The Bodycare Journal: A Shower Ritual to Reset the Mind

How is a shower ritual any different from a regular shower?
It’s built around intention. Rituals give your body what it’s asking for in the moment and based on intensely caring for yourself.
I will share one of many rituals throughout our time here but this one is sacred. It’s meant to relax and overall reset the body.
Before hoping in, let’s set the mood.
- Overall mood: soft & grounded
- Lighting: bathroom lights completely off. If you have candles use those or use the flashlight on your phone.
- Aroma: fresh eucalyptus leaves hung in the shower along with eucalyptus/lavender shower steamers.
- Music: slow jams, white noise, spa music, classical piano (anything that causes you to decompress)
The shower has started. Let’s talk about what to use.
Use your everyday soap first.
Exfoliate with a lavender or eucalyptus scrub
Then use a body wash meant for sleep (something like Method’s “wind down”)
Lastly soothe the skin with a relaxing shower oil (like Dr. Teals bath & body lavender oil)
After shower care.
Moisturize as usual –
Before you hop into bed, use a mixture of eucalyptus and lavender essential oil drops. (Let the drops fall into your hand, mix, pat your hands on your bed and under your pillow)
Do a few quick stretches and you’re all done!

Doing this atleast 1/week helps the mind & body reset while allowing time to destress. More body care rituals soon to come so stay tuned!
Until next time…
