While these are all relaxing, it falls in the category of Body care. So let me share how to really relax.
- DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
My days of relaxation are filled with nothing. This is where my brain is most free and my body tension is non-existent. I usually include a day like this in my weekly routine. The day before, I prep by ensuring all necessary tasks are complete and meals are prepped. If I skip this step, my brain will not be relaxed. I will be consumed with thoughts and eventually get up to work.
I wake up, meditate to ensure a clear mind, and then I indulge in whatever comes to mind. This usually includes a glass or two of wine and a binging show. Of course, you want to make sure to feel the sun or fresh air so I make sure to go on at least three short walks. This is also easy because I have a pet. Needless to say that part is forced.
With a clear mind, meals prepped, and fresh air you now have the recipe for relaxation. Doing nothing is necessary for your body. It allows the muscles and brain to recoup. It may spike new ideas and creativity. It can decrease stress levels and increase happiness.
