The Bodycare Journal: Staying Grounded
There are so many things that consistently affect our lives. Events that are usually out of our control. There’s death, new jobs, family feuds, bills, trouble with partners, etc. Speaking from experience, I know how hard it can be to pull yourself back into who you’re becoming and not stay complacent with who you are.
During these times, I find it important to keep yourself uplifted. How, you ask? I think mainly by staying grounded. I recently had a conversation with a friend and we spoke on things that help us stay grounded. I told them that they as a person, ground me sometimes. It is possible to have people in your life, healthy relationships, that truly reset your mind. They took this as a huge compliment and returned by saying “You keep me at peace.” I often tell myself, that I am so blessed to have a friend like that because in any healthy relationship, you must see yourself grow.
We spoke about grounding for the next hour or so. Now, I’m sharing this with you. To be grounded in reality means being aware of our surroundings and knowing the difference between what is real and what is not. It means living in the present moment. We spoke of a few ways that help us.
This includes ways to reconnect to the earth. Such as:
— Yoga
— Horseback riding
— Journaling
— Giving back to yourself
— Hiking
— Walking
— Nutrition
— Sun meditation
— Nurturing conversations
— Being in the water
Keep yourself afloat with these activities when you start to feel less than or down. When you’re doing this be present with yourself and your emotions. Have the conversations with your friends that will restore your spirits. This will help you pull through the rough changes of everyday life. We are here, living day by day. Make the best of what you have here on earth while you still can.
Make a difference and share this week’s body care entry with your friend or loved one.
