You Can Now Get a 3D House Printed For $6000 Within 24-Hours
The first permitted, 3D-printed home created specifically for the developing world was unveiled today in Austin, Texas by New Story, the non-profit working to create a world where no human being lives in survival mode, and ICON, the newly launched construction technologies company leading the way into the future of homebuilding by using 3D printing to make major advancements in affordability, building performance, sustainability and customizability.
New Story is a San Fransisco housing charity who have partnered with construction technology company ICON to design a 3D printer that creates small houses in an economical way for citizens in need.
Each 350-square-foot house is completely 3D printed and will cost around $6000 when New Story soon constructs over 100 units within the next 8-months. The charity aims to bring these fast constructions to countries such as El Salvador, Bolivia, Haiti, and Mexico.
