Rakim on Creating His 1st Album, Marley Marl Trying to Change His Style
Rakim recently sat down for a live edition of Touré Show, and in this clip, he explains what it was like recording “Eric B for President” in Marley Marl’s house when he was just 17.
He revealed that it was a nerve-racking process because he respected them so much, but he wanted Rakim to be more “amped up” when he rapped. After the song’s success, Marley Marl admitting to Rakim that he understood what he was going for when they recorded the track.
