Backwater House
Backwater is a contemporary waterside house in a serene setting with panoramic views over a private lagoon enclosed by Broadland carr woodland.
The house, designed by award winning practice Platform 5 Architects, was completed in 2016.
The timber framed house has three pitched roof bays, echoing the form of local boatsheds; each bay has a different internal volume and offers framed views of the lagoon. The house is clad in western red cedar shingles, a traditional material forming a unifying ribbon element that emphasizes its classic Broads silhouette.
On the southern, lagoon elevation a deep canopy creates a sheltered outdoor area where you can enjoy a gin & tonic on a warm evening even in the rain. Inside you will find a sleek, comfortable well-equipped home.
You can book/rent this house out for a couple days – get a nice getaway. You start dying when you stop dreaming.
