LeBron James Donates $41 Million to Send 1,100 Kids to College
One of the greatest athletes and arguably the best player of all time is giving back to his community and helping dreams come true by partnering up with a local university to send 1100 kids to college. Lebron James wasn’t born rich. He comes from a similar background that we all can relate to. Raised in Akron, Ohio, he mom often struggled to make ends meet, he was sent to live with the Family of Frank Walker to focus on his love if basketball. James now has the ability to help others (especially after that last deal with NIKE worth about $1 Billion).
“It’s the reason I do what I do. These students have big dreams, and I’m happy to do everything I can to help them get there. They’re going to have to earn it, but I’m excited to see what these kids can accomplish knowing that college is in their futures.”
Lebron partnered with the University of Akron to provide a four-year scholarship to students that are in his “I Promise” program. After all the calculations, it’s approximate $9,500 per year to attend school (which is bullshit). LeBron James donates $41 Million to send 1,100 kids to college. Proving that he doesn’t forget what he comes from, this is a good move for the superstar. Once you get your money and accomplish dreams, don’t allow it to consume. Don’t switch up on your culture. Give back. You start dying when you stop dreaming.
