conversations with a black man, black woman, & a black cop
“When the power of love over comes the love of power, the world will know peace.” – Jimi Hendrix
In just 48 hours we lost two black men Philando Castile and Alton Sterling due to police brutality. Castile was shot to death by Minneapolis Police during a traffic stop. Sterling was shot 6 times outside a convince store by police in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Those cops that serve to protect are slaughtering our brothers, our husbands, and our sons in our face with no remorse. How many times will we endure such tragedies? To be black in America is coming to be a death sentence.
Last night we marched outside of the nation’s capital seeking an end to police brutality. Alongside with other demonstrators, we talked about what it will take for us as the community to come together and fight as one.
