Time Waste Management presents Space is the Place
“In tomorrow’s world, men will not need artificial instruments such as jets and spaceships. In the world of tomorrow, the new man will ‘think’ the place he wants to go, then his mind will take him there.” – Sun Ra
Over the weekend, Time Waste Management – A Place Gallery & Studios (an outlet for young and emerging artists to exhibit their works in any media to a broad community of peers based in Orlando, Fl) showcased ‘Space Is The Place’. This 3 Day event featured conceptual yet whimsical illustrations of pop culture subjects created by artist Maressa Roberts (known as Em’s Revenge) with assisting projection mapping by David J. Lajas (known Catalyst).
“Space is the place is an exhibition heavily influenced by the ideology of the late great Sun Ra who believed that he was sent to earth from outer space.
The aim of the show is to inspire a higher level of thinking. By creating an eccentric otherworldly environment, we wanted to provide an alternative perspective on the world around us.
The human mind is a well of power and potential that is too often wasted. Let your mind and your soul be your eyes and ears.” – Em’s revenge and Catalyst
Enjoy some visuals we were able to capture from the show below and if your ever in Orlando, make it a priority to stop by A Place Gallery & Studios. Be sure to follow both artists here and here for more.
